The short answer
Two values are stored whatever you decide: one remembers that you confirmed your age, the other remembers your answer to the cookie banner. Everything else waits for a yes, and does nothing at all until it gets one.
Cookies and browser storage
We use "cookie" loosely here, the way the banner does, to cover both proper cookies and local storage entries. Our own two values use local storage, which means they stay on your device and are not sent to our server with each request.
Essential, always on
- nm_door — holds the result of the age check so you are not asked again on every page. Stays until you clear your browser storage.
- nm_crumbs — holds your answer to this banner. Without it the banner would reappear on every page you open. Stays until you clear your browser storage.
Neither can be switched off, because without them the site cannot act on decisions you have already made. Neither holds a name, an address or anything that identifies you.
Analytics, only if you agree
- Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*) — counts visits and page views so we can see which parts of the site are worth keeping. Usually expires after two years.
Advertising measurement, only if you agree
- Google Ads (_gcl_*) — tells us whether somebody who clicked an advertisement of ours went on to read about the rooms or write to the desk. Usually expires after ninety days.
Both run under Google Consent Mode. The page head sets every category to denied before any tag loads, so nothing is stored until you choose. Choosing Essential only keeps it that way permanently.
Changing your answer
Use at the bottom of any page and pick again; the new answer replaces the old one straight away. Clearing this site's storage in your browser resets both the cookie answer and the age confirmation.
Blocking storage entirely
Every current browser can block or wipe cookies and site storage, usually under Privacy or Site settings. Blocking it all will not break these pages, but the age check and the banner will greet you on every visit, because nothing will be left to remember your answers with.
What we deliberately do not use
No social network pixels. No advertising networks besides Google. No cross-site tracking, no device fingerprinting, no session recording, no embedded video or maps. Apart from the two web fonts the site is set in, nothing external loads on these pages.
