Where we stand
The casino floor at Northmoor is one room in a lodge that also has beds, a kitchen and a sauna. That is the proportion we want to keep. An hour at a table after dinner is a good evening; four hours chasing a bad run is not, and our staff are trained to notice the difference and to step in before a guest does something they will regret in the morning.
No part of this website involves gambling. There is nothing on it to play, nothing to stake and no way to pay us a penny.
Adults only, no exceptions
- The Stagroom admits adults aged 18 and over, or older where local rules set a higher minimum.
- Photo identification is checked at the door on every visit. Not once a stay, every visit.
- Younger guests may sleep here, eat here and use the sauna house at family hours. The casino floor is simply not available to them, accompanied or not.
- Staff refuse entry where a document is missing, borrowed, expired or unclear, and they do not negotiate about it.
What a host can set up for you
- A limit on time. Say how long you intend to stay and a host will come and tell you when you have reached it.
- A limit on money. Name a figure before you start and the floor team will hold the line for the evening.
- A break. Ask to be refused at the door for a night, a week or the rest of the season.
- Self-exclusion. A written agreement for a fixed period. It is confidential, it is kept at the desk, and we do not cut it short because you ask us nicely later.
Northmoor extends no credit of any kind. There is no cash machine on the casino floor, and the bar does not run a tab against the Stagroom.
Worth watching for
- Playing longer or for more than you decided before you sat down.
- Going back to the table specifically to win back what you lost.
- Using money that was meant for something else.
- Borrowing, or keeping quiet about how much you have played.
- Feeling tense, secretive or low about it afterwards.
- Skipping dinner, sleep or the people you came with in order to keep playing.
If a few of those sound familiar, say so to a host or contact one of the organisations below. Nothing you tell our staff goes into your guest record.
Independent support
Free, confidential and nothing to do with us:
- Gambling Therapy — online groups, live chat and advice in several languages: gamblingtherapy.org
- Gamblers Anonymous — peer meetings, in person and online, in most countries: gamblersanonymous.org
- Gam-Anon — for partners, parents and friends of someone who gambles: gam-anon.org
Reception keeps the number of the nearest local helpline at the desk and will give it to anyone who asks, without comment.
How our staff are trained
Everyone who works a shift in the Stagroom is briefed on age checks and on approaching a guest who is struggling before they ever stand at a table. Refreshers run twice a year, and any host who decides to stop serving a guest for the evening has the backing of the house, every time.
Arranging something in advance
You can set a limit or an exclusion up before you arrive. Email [email protected] and mark the message for the casino manager.
